DAY 1: (Sun 22nd March)
Am Transfer and check in to accommodation.
All UK delegates arrive on BA 07.05am. Assemble at meeting point at close to exit doors in airport arrivals foyer once through immigrations [Arrive by shuttle and drop off bags in store until rooms available] SA: [Arrive by shuttle/self and drop off bags in store until rooms available] Shuttles (meet in airport meeting point at least 15 mins before departure)
9.30-3 Collect ID badge and information packs. Collect voucher for breakfast/lunch at the Breakwater hotel café area (lunch available 12-2). Available on shuttle or from Faculty Room at 10-10.15am or 11.45-12 noon
4pm Welcome talk - overview of the workshop. Introductory overview and icebreaker session. Tea/Coffee available [Dr Holt/ Dr Griffin El]

4-30- 5.30pm Poster display session. Meet and mingle with opportunities to discuss research displayed. Posters remain up during workshop on walls of faculty room

DAY 2: (Mon 23rd March)

Plenary 1: Inclusive and sustainable futures through enterprise-based and cross-sector initiatives.
· The South Africa Perspective. (Prof Urban & Prof Hamann)
· Social enterprises and social purpose venture models a UK Perspective. (Prof Doherty)
· African Hybrid Enterprises (Dr Holt)
· Q & A with panel

11.15-12.30pm Faculty Room/ Academic 1/ Academic 2/ Seminar 1-5
Sharing your research session 1. In this session all participants are allocated to one of six groups. Each group is hosted in a separate room in round table breakouts facilitated by a mentor or coordinator. In session 1 two/three group members presents their research, with 15-20 minutes per speaker. You will be notified of which group you are in as part of the introductory guide

Sharing your research session 2. Remaining three/four papers are presented with round table discussions facilitated by a mentor.

9-10am Faculty Room. Strategically positioning your research (Dr Griffin El + Prof Hamann) with Q&A panel input from mentors
10-11am Faculty Room. Understanding Journals - getting publishing, journal rankings. (Prof Ghobadian & Prof Kolk with panel input)
11am Refreshments/ break out into round tables Foyer
11.15-11.45am Faculty Room/ Exec Room Reflective exercise 1 & 2. Using your workbooks reflect on your activities in your research so far and answer two questions by making notes. For 30mins each person reflects and makes individual notes for:
1) What is my theoretical lens?
2) What are my target journals?
11.45-12.45pm Faculty Room/ Exec Room. Sharing your research 3. Here the individual notes taken are shared within your groups and discussed with your table for feedback facilitated by mentor or coordinator
12.45 -1.30 Lunch Stonebreakers
1.30 - 2.45pm Faculty Room/ Exec Room Maximising the impact of your research and you as a researcher + Q&A (Prof Ghobadian, Dr Holt & Prof Crotty with panel input)
2.45-3.15pm Faculty Room/ Exec Room. Reflective exercise 3 - what's my pathway to impact? Individually consider your activities and describe them to your table/discuss possible ideas, facilitated by mentor or coordinator
3.15 Refreshments Foyer
3.30-5pm Round table break outs. In mini-teams form small clusters to work up an idea for a journal paper.

DAY 4: (Wed 25th March) Social and Environmental Innovation in Action
8am - 4pm (final times TBC)
This is a fieldtrip day where delegates visit various enterprises to see various business models in operation in the Cape Town region. Different groups will have different itineraries so that they can discuss what they experienced with each other. This will include a Township tour and visits to enterprises. Lunch during the trip – more details with confirmed collection /drop off times at the workshop
6:30pm - 10pm Gala Dinner Milnerton Golf Course.
Plenary 3 – A practitioner view of the social enterprise landscape (by Bevan Ducasse wigroup )
Shuttles collects attendees (and guests) from Breakwater Lodge at 5.45pm
DAY 5: (Thur 26th March)
9-10am Faculty Room Developing your academic career. In this session we discuss issues such as probation, meeting departmental targets, and developing your academic career.
· A SA Perspective (Prof Hamann & Prof Urban)
· A UK perspective (Prof Ghobadian & Prof Crotty)
· Being an international academic (Prof Kolk)
· Q & A with panel
10-11.00am Finding funding.
This session presents an overview of finding funding with input from both the UK and SA mentors and coordinators. Panel members will also share their experience of winning funding.
Reflective Exercise 4: Findings a theme for a research bid - evaluating my strengths (Dr Holt)
11.00-12.00 Linking research and teaching (Dr Holt & Dr Griffin El).
Reflection and discussion
12.00-12.15 Introducing the special editions. Two special editions of journals are planned linked to this workshop, here the editors (Prof Ghobadian & Prof Doherty ) introduce these journals and the special editions
12.15–12.30pm Final comments

1.15pm Coach leaves for ½ day trip Meet outside Breakwater reception
2pm Visit to Villiera Winery and Wildlife Sanctuary Koelenhof
Group 1: 1.5hrs game drive through the Villiera Sanctuary Visitors are guaranteed sightings of a diverse population of antelope (gemsbok, eland, bontebok, springbuck, zebra, as well as other small mammals and birds) On a clear day one has a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains overlooking the Cape Peninsula. Group 2: 1.5hrs Visit to the Winey clinic , crèche, wine cellar and talk about their sustainability principles. After 1.5 hrs the two groups swop. + Informal wine tasting 5.30/6pm depart
