Gala Dinner
Our Gala Dinner will take place Wednesday 25th March and bring together social enterprise practitioners, academics, our funders (the British Council and the National Research Foundation) and others interested in inclusive and sustainable futures through enterprise-based initiatives.
Our Keynote Speaker: Bevan Ducasse wiGroup
Bevan grew up on a farm in Kwa-Zulu Natal where he completed his school career, before moving to the cape to complete a Financial Analysis degree at Stellenbosch University. After studying, Bevan joined UCS solutions as a consultant, and went on to work as a business development manager at a mobile start up firm.
At the age of 24, Bevan founded wiGroup which is a mobile technology company.
Today, wiGroup’s platform is installed on the point of sale systems of more than 50,000 till lanes across Africa, and has processed over R2.5-billion worth of transaction value reaching millions of customers.
wiGroup / Bevan awards include:
* Best Alternative Payments award at the Card and ePayments Africa
* Bevan was accepted onto the global Endeavor entrepreneurship network. He is one of only 29 high-impact entrepreneurs around the world to receive this honour in 2014.
* wiGroup won the PwC Accelerator local and international most promising growth company in 2014
